Brighton Marina is proud to announce the continued success and expansion of the School Rewards Initiative, a programme dedicated to recognising and rewarding student achievement and positive behaviour in local schools. Launched a decade ago, this initiative has made a significant impact on fostering a positive educational environment by providing meaningful incentives such as complimentary cinema screenings and bowling events, in collaboration with local businesses and community organisations.
The School Rewards Initiative aims to reward academic and behavioural achievements by offering tangible rewards to students who demonstrate significant improvements in their academics, behaviour, and overall engagement. By encouraging positive behaviour and establishing a culture that celebrates and rewards academic efforts, the initiative seeks to motivate students to strive for their best.
Currently, Brighton Marina is collaborating with Woodingdean Primary School, furthering its commitment to local education by inviting the students to a free film screening. By partnering with the school, Brighton Marina helps create a supportive and motivating environment for young students, recognising their hard work and dedication.
Furthermore, the initiative aims to expand community ties by leveraging the successful model developed at Brighton Marina. It strengthens relationships between local businesses, educational institutions, and the community, jointly supporting youth development.
One of the key components of the initiative is the Cinema Screening Rewards. Partner cinemas provide free screening slots for students to enjoy films as part of their reward. This year, Brighton Marina coordinated with Cineworld for a special event on July 10th. The event included a complimentary morning screening, offering students a fun and educational experience as a reward for their hard work.
This initiative offers cinemas an excellent opportunity to increase their community engagement and visibility. Events like these draw positive attention and foster goodwill, enhancing the cinema’s reputation as a community-focused business. Contributions to the School Rewards Initiative directly support local educational efforts and student development, reinforcing the role of participating businesses in promoting positive youth outcomes. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of local children.
Sophie Chandler, Marketing Manager at Brighton Marina, commented: “We are thrilled to continue supporting our local schools through the School Rewards Initiative. This programme not only motivates students to excel but also strengthens our community bonds. By partnering with businesses like Cineworld, we can offer students memorable experiences that celebrate their achievements.”
Headteacher Gemma of Woodingdean Primary School expressed her gratitude: “They LOVED it so much! Thank you so much for organising it for them. They were so appreciative and really enjoyed seeing the film with their friends. It was a great way to end the term – we just had our Year 6 SATs results too which are our highest yet, so it was a real celebration!”
